What is the College of Self-Organised Learning?
The remit of The College of Self-Organised Learning (CSOL), founded in 2003, is to be the catalyst for the widespread introduction and delivery of SOL into commercial and social organisations.
CSOL designs tailored programmes to meet the needs of clients.
Typically, CSOL will carry out individual and group Learning Conversations within the client organisation to demonstrate SOL’s impact. CSOL will then install a system of Learning Conversations and the SOL system which involves establishing a Learning Policy which transforms top-down assessment into one incorporating the perspectives of the individual, team and organisation. Learning Managers and Learning Coaches will be trained and accredited; their primary function will be to support individual, team and organisational growth.
In time organisations will be able to practice SOL under licence from CSOL, so removing the need for ongoing consultancy. Licensees will have access to workshops and seminars, to a specified amount of support time per year and to the latest learning materials. They will also become members of a community of Self-Organised Learners which will provide mutual support and which will play a key role in the ongoing development of SOL.
“In a particular type of helping relationship, we free the individuals to find their inner wisdom and confidence, and they will make increasingly healthier and more constructive choices.” – Rogers
